Official notice in district court Fayette County Iowa lists Verene Bailey Camp as plaintiff and Mary Winnifred Schmid as buyer. It details a sale of described real estate for 240040 dollars to Schmid, report of sale by Referee C W Antes, and a court hearing set for November 5, 1963 in West Union Iowa for approval of sale and deed. Attorneys Traeger and Crawford represent the Referee.

Charles Gruver Ern Holzer and Will Christ left for Huron South Dakota to visit C C Christ and perhaps pheasant hunt. George Vaughn Milton Miller and Otto Olson are in Waterloo for several weeks of work.

Donald Thein of Marquette was named Clayton county assessor by the county conference committee in Elkader on Monday night October 19. He takes over January 1, 1954. Thein, a Milwaukee Road employee, was one of eleven candidates for the post opened by Merrill R. Smith’s resignation.
