Long lists of visitors and guests fill West Union notes
A long string of callers, relatives, and acquaintances visit in West Union and surrounding towns, with frequent mentions of Shaffer and Muehlethaler families, Schroeders, Friedens, and Dennlers. Weekend visits, dinners, birthdays, and travels span Postville, Oelwein, Decorah, Cedar Rapids, and Des Moines as relatives converge for occasions and hospital stays.
