Valley News reports a busy Sunday with numerous guests at area homes. Norbert Butikofer celebrated sixteenth birthday with a picnic at Elkader fair grounds. many families from Martell, West Union, Guttenberg, and Lamont joined meals and receptions at hosts including the Butikofer, Wescott, Leuchtenmacher, Christen, Hanson, Bodenseiner, and many others.
Local residents hosted and visited numerous families in Gunder and nearby towns. Ruth Loftsgard and Shar on joined in at Gilbert Halversons. L C Reierson spent Friday with Cornelius Reier son. Helen Reinhart and Holm were guests in the Andrew Reinhart home. Families from Garnaville and Castalia joined varied dinners and calls through the weekend.

Myron Chapman family spent Wednesday at Clear Lake. Ida Meyer joined Harold Meyer and family in Strawberry Point for a trip to Earl Meyer’s Des Moines home Sunday. Richard Hofer and family dined with Mr and Mrs Lawrence Hofer in Postville. Richard Schmidt of Waterloo and Ralph Shaffer family joined Earl and Helen Rothlisberger Friday. Ogle family attended Foster reunion at Howard Jones’s Arlington home. Lou Hanning Judy and Jimmy of St Louis and Yvonne Perry of Strawberry Point with Lorimer Perry of McGregor and Patricia Hyde of Elkader were dinner guests Sunday at Raymond Benson’s home. Mrs Arnold Sanders and children visited Sunday afternoon in the Arthur Chapman home.
