The notice lists annual subscription prices: 99 Subscription Rates two dollars per year for four Northeast Iowa counties and two dollars fifty cents per year for all outside the above territory, payable in advance.
Official amendment adopted at a June 20 1955 stockholders meeting in Elgin Iowa. Article VI is replaced with a new capital stock provision setting the capital at fifty thousand dollars divided into shares of one hundred dollars each and fully paid. Amending by two thirds vote as allowed by law. Executed by the bank president and cashier in Elgin on June 20 1955.
Items from July 10 1930 Echo include a party where about 60 guests showered Art Herrling at Abels Hollow and two weddings at St Pauls Methodist Church. Elgin led the Little 8 tied with Waucoma 5 to 1. Crops looked fine as farmers prepared to harvest. A barrel of sodium chlorate spilled, killing eight steers that had nipped the barrel’s contents.
