Iowa lawmakers pursue full treatment of P-60 antifreeze license
Iowa legislators advance a house investigation into the P-60 salt base antifreeze license action by the secretary of agriculture after an interim committee hearing. Clyde Spry revoked the initial license for test use, while Senate leader Jay Colburn warned the hearing was not an investigation. The move seeks a full explanation and potential action on both the hearing and the license, with prior statements that the interim panel left many questions unanswered. Also, about 14,000 World War I veterans will soon receive state bonus checks funded by a two year legislative appropriation, with $85 million allotted for payments.
