A sled accident returning from a party injured Myrtle Olson and Agnes Hoag, Olson dis placed a vertebra and was taken to Decorah hospital. Community Club elected new officers Max Thoma president A M Weibel vice president F C Muhlethaler secretary treasurer. George Gilson reported foreign radio reception during International Broadcasting Week with a self made Super Hetradyne. Louise Evans celebrated a Friday birthday party with several young guests.

President Truman Hosts Boy Scouts in White House

President Truman will greet 12 outstanding Boy Scouts at the White House on February 6, opening the 41st anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. Boy Scout Week runs February 6 to 14 nationwide with over 2,750,000 scouts and leaders. The birthday theme Strengthen the Oath inspires pledges to the Scout Promise and community observers will join in open house events, civil defense demonstrations, home safety reviews, and surprise mobilizations to test readiness. Since 1910 more than 17,500,000 have joined the organization.
