Delay Street Work Until After Fair
Street widening and other public improvements are postponed until after the county fair while workers catch up on accrued odd jobs. Next week may bring street activity, including a possible widening of 15th avenue from the Christian church corner to Washington street. A substitute plan to widen Washington street by removing east side parking would require moving two new electroliers, raising costs to 500 to 600 dollars. Additional city work includes laying a 4 inch main from the George Priske corner to the sale barn with a fire hydrant, using on hand pipe. a potential new main from west of Roy Collins residence toward Sam Greensweig corner is under discussion but may be deferred.
