Eldora Council Approves Sewer Financing Plan
In a special session the Eldora city council approved a sewer revenue bond plan for main sewers and lift stations in the proposed extension with lateral sewers to be assessed on abutting property. Estimated project cost is 70 000 to 75 000 dollars, about 20 000 for laterals. The extension adds service to Liberty Park and the south city fringe and improves other areas. Next steps include plat filing and assessment schedules, then a resolution of necessity and a public hearing date. A nine week period is anticipated for legal steps. Bonds would be retired by a sewer service charge based on about 30 percent of water bills. No public election is required.
