Lynnwood treatment site upgrades aim to improve Puget Sound effluent
Lynnwood officials push advanced sewage treatment with enclosed clarifiers and a deodorizing scrubber while expanding the facility. The project adds a second metal building around the clarifiers and sludge gear including a new incinerator, a chlorine contact tank, and a diffuser outfall to dilute effluent. The goal is higher quality discharge into the Sound despite questions about the need for the upgrade.
