Edmonds burglar active again in Seaview area

Edmonds police say a night prowler who targets occupied homes resumed activity after a summer hiatus. Five break-ins occurred last weekend in the Seaview area near 92nd Avenue and 192nd Street Southwest, with purses taken and later found near the homes. Police describe the thief’s pattern as entering between 10 PM and 7 AM, often via unlocked doors or windows, and caution residents to secure entry points and call 911 with any suspicious nighttime activity.

Remains of woman found in house at Mountlake Terrace

Mountlake Terrace police found skull and bones in a single story four bedroom home. The body appeared decomposed and had possibly been in the location for two or more months. Burned bones in a yard fire pit and a dog living in the house were noted. No signs of violent death were found. Identification pending.

Edmonds candidates forum to feature city council race

A candidates night with a Q and A is set for tomorrow at 7 30 p m at Edmonds United Methodist Church. Invited are contenders for Edmonds City Council Edmonds School District Snohomish County Executive County Council District 3 and the Edmonds Port Commission.

South County Voters Face District-Based County Races

South County voters go to the polls Tuesday for a primary dominated by county offices. Nine candidates seek county executive, sheriff, treasurer, clerk, auditor, and assessor posts, with two finalist slots in each race and district based County Council elections in districts 3 and 4. Officials predict about 25 percent turnout, roughly five percent above normal.

Final flush movement at Lynnwood sewage plant upgrade

Lynnwood is expanding its waste treatment capacity with a $7 million project to double the plant at Brown's Bay. Construction, one third complete, will enclose most processes in two new buildings and add new headworks and clarifiers to improve primary treatment before discharge to Puget Sound.
