Ray Kursar, a New York artist, paints eight limited edition plates from Gone With The Wind. The series has become a top seller, with values rising over 1,000 percent since 1978. An Edmonds shop hosts an open house featuring Kursar on July 30, expecting 500 to 600 fans.

Velour scenic painting chosen for Mountlake Terrace council chamber
Mountlake Terrace will install a velour painting of mountains lakes and terraces behind the council podium in about two months funded by the citys art program and arts fund. Seattle artist Rebecca Edwards created the $1250 three by ten foot horizontal piece chosen by the fine arts council and jury with lighting to highlight it. The council approved the purchase unanimously amid discussion of its soothing blue palette.
