Local agencies receive 187000 emergency funds in Snohomish County
The Emergency Food and Shelter National Board approved 187,420 to extend food and shelter programs in Snohomish County and Everett. Eight local groups including the American Red Cross and Salvation Army will share funds for meals, lodging, and services for vulnerable residents, with Snohomish County receiving 153,064.42.

Garden club wins national state awards
The Lynndale Garden Club earned eleven awards at the Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs convention in Ocean Shores. Honors include Roadside Improvement Civic Concern Award and $15, plus a second place from the Washington Roadside Council for the streetside project at Scriber Lake Park. A National Purple Rosette was won for the Flower Show The World is a Garden. The club led in state ranks for clubs with 25 to 40 members. Co chairs were Mrs. Robert Boyd and Mrs. Edward Cardiff. The group also placed in Wildflower Native Flora and other categories.
