A public hearing at Brier Elementary on the proposed 236th Street extension into Brier drew clear pro and con lines. Opponents sat left, supporters right, as consultants collected comments on traffic and environmental impacts with no city officials in attendance.
At a packed meeting residents and officials debated the proposed extension of 236th Street linking to Mountlake Terrace. Kaske and planners urged mitigations including a 100 year storm retention system, widened sidewalks, lighting and traffic safety measures for 25th Avenue West while opponents argued EIS flaws and increased crime and noise threaten Creekside Village and local property values.
