Green convicted, now a suspect in Gere disappearance

Convicted rapist Michael K. Green has not been charged in the disappearance of 12-year-old Brenda Gere, Snohomish County prosecutors say though he has officially become a suspect. Deputy prosecutor Patricia Toth says sufficient evidence is lacking for charges, despite Green now facing new allegations.

Lynnwood Gains Edge on Sales Tax Revenue

Lynnwood's finance director notes the city collected nearly 3 million dollars in state sales tax revenues this year, about three times the combined totals of nearby cities. The city benefits from a broad tax base, faster cash flow, and no utility taxes, while the county’s late adoption of an optional tax reduced potential revenue by over 800 thousand dollars annually.
