Advertising supplements arrived poorly and required seven hours to insert, delaying delivery across the town. Hyde Park zoning upgrade heard in Hyde Park area
Cincinnati city planning commission staff will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. Monday Aug 8 on changing zoning from R-4 to R-3 for Michigan and Shaw Avenues north Griffiths Hyde Park. The Madisonville Coordinating Committee approved a concept to shrink and rezone the business district to support new housing and office uses. City engineers expect public hearings this fall before final approval with reshaped zoning along Madison Rd Whetsel and adjacent streets.

Hyde Park Residents Association elected three new directors at the July 12 meeting. William Bae dr an attorney and Gary R. Lesniewicz an architect join the board, plus Buck Lauer. Shaw F. Skillings is named president of the Greater Hyde Park Community Council with officers Barrett Nolan Swing Shoemaker. The board meets July 19 at 7 30 p m at the new Presbyterian Church for committee assignments. HPRA backed up zoning on Michigan Ave and opposed a change on Zumstein. The planning commission sent the proposal to city council with a denial recommendation. The Urban Development Committee will decide in early August. The group also weighed a variance for a Medical Arts Center sign on Erie Ave. If the sign is reduced by 35 percent, the board may revisit. All meetings are open to the public. The next gathering is Aug. 2 at 7 30 p m. News deadline is Friday noon.

Utility bill aid offered through local senior centers
Three local senior centers join with the Hamilton County Welfare Department to register low income individuals and families for financial help with high utility or fuel bills from last winter. Applications run until Aug 12 at Madisonville, Oakley, Hyde Park centers, and the Department, with funds from the federal Special Crisis Intervention Program. Priority to elderly in dire need with disconnected or delinquent utilities.
