Baptist Mission Meeting Planned in American Legion Hall
A Sunday 2:30 p.m. gathering at the American Legion Hall aims to organize a Baptist Mission for the town as a branch of Roosevelt Baptist Church. Rev. Andy Underhill and Kent Trujillo will lead the service with Rev. A E Skipper of Uintah Basin Children’s Home as speaker. Old time gospel singing will occur. attendees from all areas are invited.

Standard Gilsonite Co. names new mine engineer
L Jerry Berg selected as general superintendent of operations for Mesa Petroleum owned Standard Gilsonite Co. after its 1965 acquisition. Plant upgrades include a washing drying complex and pneumatic handling. Gilsonite deposits lie in Uintah Basin near Roosevelt Utah. Berg, a 1958 South Dakota Mines graduate, has a wife and two children and has moved to Roosevelt with his family.

Duchesne Seminary Graduation Set For May 20
The Duchesne Seminary will hold its graduation Friday May 20 at 8 p.m. in the Duchesne Stake Center. Nineteen graduates and eight postgraduates will participate in a program themed Climb Every Mountain led by Clinton Moon and Kenneth Farnsworth with Sally Wimmer as secretary. Neil K Burraston oversees planning with Carol Moss set to sing. A banquet will follow for graduates, parents, bishoprics, high council and stake presidency members and guests. Duchesne Stake President Elmer R. Moon will present the pins to graduates and postgraduates.
