Members of William R. Sands Unit 5 gathered at Grace Dalgleish’s home with President Virginia Monks presiding. Poppy posters made by Union High Junior Class were displayed and praised as excellent works of art. The group discussed two potential projects.
Lynn Jensen has recently been released from the Army. He arrived in Salt Lake last Wednesday morning and is now employed at Grand Central. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Jensen.
Girls attending Girls State at Logan June 6 to 12 plan to raise funds for the activity. Birthday celebration honored Mrs. Ted Thomas Jr at home with relatives traveling from Price and Wellington to join the family gathering. Clifford McKenna recovering from a recent foot injury and will use crutches. Twin daughters arrived to Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielsen in Logan with paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Nielsen of Roosevelt.
Two Duchesne High School juniors Carolyn Wright and Judy Turner were chosen to attend the annual Girls State at Utah State University with alternates Claudia Davies and Dorothy Lewis. The training runs June 5 to 11. Judges from Duchesne and Vernal presided at the American Legion Hall.
