Rucker Battalion To Sponsor Dance At Dothan Club

Spinsters To Give Girls Script Dance In Dothan

The Spinsters Cub Dance planned for Thursday evening at the Country Club will feature a tagging and paying girls race. The 35th Division orchestra from Camp Rucker will provide music, and proceeds benefit the Camp Rucker Hospitals Fund. WAVES To Enter Hunter College

A special Pullman car will carry 21 WAVES from Marianna to New York on September 21 as Navy recruiting officials prepare for their transfer to Hunter College training center. About 1,000 girls per week are entering Navy careers, many likely to become petty officers with pay over $4000 annually. Names of local participants include Doris Davidson and Velma Jean Gilman among others from Marianna, Graceville, Wewahitchka, Altha, Brownstown, and Melone.

Girl Scouts Hold September Meeting at Hartford
