Alabama Governor Albert Carmichael issued opinions on tax exemptions and public expenses. Concerts and similar entertainments with net proceeds to charity or to schools or religious groups are not subject to state and county license tax. In a separate ruling he approved county payment for reasonable expenses in a special crime investigation directed by the circuit solicitor, including costs for digging up and examining a body by a state toxicologist.
