A National Bureau of Standards method uses electrical drilling to shape diamond dies into wine glass forms for ultra fine wire strands used in radars and electronics. The process, developed by Peters, Emerson, Neffen, Harris, and Cooper, cuts production time dramatically and yields tougher dies than mechanical drilling.
