Farm Income Higher By 25 Per Cent In H1 1947

The Agriculture Department reported farm income including government payments rose about 25 percent in the first half of 1947 versus the same period in 1946. Cash receipts neared 12.01 billion dollars, with livestock and livestock products up nearly 40 percent and meat animals driving the gain. Dairy, poultry, eggs, and crops also rose, while government dairy payments ceased with price ceiling removal.
