More Fruit Trees Needed for State Home Supply
New plantings of fruit trees and plants are needed to boost home fruit supply across the state. Alabama farmers could supply much of the fruit demand, says Wo AL Ruffin, APL extension horticulturist. Two hundred pounds of meat will be given to the chamber of commerce for its annual agricultural banquet, with the rest sold at auction to benefit the Travelers' Hospital in Salt Lake City. Two buffalo sides will be auctioned, and a third kept by Bolton. Dr. G F Good, state veterinarian, says he does not believe the hunt would be inhumane.
