Youths Bound Over To Grand Jury In Merchant's Death

Lorenzo Abbott Jr and Leroy Abbott Jr, cousins from Harpersville, waived preliminary hearings and were bound over to the Shelby County Grand Jury on murder charges in the fatal shooting of former Rep J F McGraw at Vincent on December 27. Calvin Pike, 14, of Talladega County, faces a separate murder warrant and was sent to the juvenile court. McGraw, an elderly merchant and former Alabama Merchants Association president, was killed when shot with a .22 rifle as he tried to stop a holdup at his Vincent general store.
