Rev. Robert Lee Bell of Union Springs has accepted the pulpit at Central Presbyterian Church Birmingham. Cottonwood builds modern rural telephone system
A complete modern telephone network with permanent fixtures began operation in Cottonwood Alabama this week. J W Riley of Riley Telephone Company rushed the project connecting six five telephones to a central office and plans to extend lines to surrounding towns in Houston County and Jackson County Florida. Visitors from Columbia noted the single central office while Carl Tutwiler of Dothan visited Miss Cathrine Gardner on Murphree street Troy Messenger.
