Providence Ky August 14 Two miners Essel Grant 35 of Clay and Ewing Riley 30 of Providence were arrested on a shooting from ambush charge in the Webster County coal field violence. Riley was seized on a description from States Attorney Fletcher Lewis. Paul Montgomery the aviator reportedly confessed to piloting the bombing plane and naming two men who hired him. Guards held Grant and Riley at Dixon county seat on $5000 bond for examining trial August 18. Grant had attended a miners union meeting in India and spoke against the violence.
