K D Creech Dies Sudden On Florida Run
K D Creech veteran engineer of the Atlanta and St Andrews Bay railroad died after a stroke at Compass Lake Florida where he was on duty with an eight man work train. He collapsed beside a water trough after a brief illness and died aboard a northbound train in Dothan two and a half hours later. He was nearly 60 and survived by his widow and several children and siblings. Funeral plans pending.

John Porter Wilson 90 a Civil War veteran died at 2 20 am at his home on the old Hosea Wilson plantation near Dothan after a long illness. He served in the Sixth Alabama volunteers the Raccoon Roughs and later in the 15th Confederate Cavalry. He was a prominent Wiregrass farmer and father of W S Wilson and Johnnie Wilson. Funeral services set for tomorrow at 9 am with burial at the family cemetery.

Boy Drowns During Swimming Party Near Fayette
Harold Berry, 15, son of Mack Berry of Birmingham, drowned at Newtons Mill near Fayette while on a group swimming party. His body was recovered about two hours after he disappeared from his companions. He was a nephew of Fayette County Sheriff Berry.
