Chana resident CHANA Albert John Balcom aged 78 of 5992 Sweeny Rd died Wednesday May 31 1989 at Rochelle Community Hospital after a long illness He worked 20 years at DeKalb Hybrid Seed Corn Company 15 years at Ogle Service Company and five years as a mechanic He was born Sept 19 1910 in Malta to Henry and Pauline Balcom He married Florence Logan Feb 23 1931 in DeKalb Survivors include wife two sons James of Chana and Robert of Grand Canyon Ariz two daughters Henrietta Shields of Rockford and Diana Nelson of Chana 13 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren Funeral 11 am Saturday at Farrell-Holland Funeral Home Oregon with Rev Frank Lay Rev of St Paul Lutheran Church officiating Burial Trinity Memory Gardens Rochelle There is no visitation A memorial is established to St Paul Lutheran Church.
