Ford Forty Years at the Wheel and a Legacy of Open Innovation
A 1933 reflection marks June 19 as the author’s 40th year at Ford and notes a first engine built in 1893 that still runs. He recalls the Selden Patent victory breaking auto exclusivity, enabling hundreds of manufacturers and the open sharing of principles since 1903. He claims Ford produced over 21 million cars, defends open collaboration, and emphasizes 40 years of experience as irreplaceable.
