The Montana Elks convention rides into Dillon August 10 11 and 12 with a big rodeo staged by firemen and Elks. Events include riding roping and bulldogging with prizes and exhibitions by Ted Renfro and bands from Missoula Butte and Anaconda. A trapshoot and music cap the three day program. Baby born Saturday to Mr and Mrs Frank Seybold.

James Vigeant Claimed by Death in Dillon District
James Vigeant known as Jimmy the Tink. He was found dead in a Ban nack street lodging house on Friday morning likely from a heart attack. Born February 20 1857 in Canada he moved to Montana as a youth and naturalized in Silver Bow county in 1885. He lived in Dillon most of his life working as a tinsmith before retirement. His sole surviving relative is a sister whose location is unknown. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon with Rev F X Lechner officiating. interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery.

Narrow Escape From Boulder River for Helena Visitors
Mr and Mrs C E Seage of Helena narrowly escaped drowning when their car slid toward the Boulder River after meeting an oncoming vehicle. Blinded by headlights they misjudged the embankment and slid off the road, with the other car stopping to render aid as the incident was reported by the Helena Record.

Rural Pupils Score High on State Examinations
In Beaverhead County 29 eighth and 25 seventh grade pupils sat the state examinations. Diploma lists show eighth graders Isabel Brenner and Vivian Arbour among top scorers with averages of 90 and 87, while Floyd Pahnish led seventh graders at 98. The overall eighth grade average was 79.8 and the seventh grade average 76.5.
