Montana Wheat Crop Likely The Largest In State History
Federal statistician George A. Scott reports Montana's 1924 crop may total 58,459,000 bushels, surpassing prior records. August weather was mostly favorable for harvest and haying as crops near completion, with wheat, oats, and hay driving the gain over last year and promising strong cash returns. Winter wheat seeding is light but yields look good in eastern counties. corn and potatoes show mixed prospects while beets and flax stand strong for the year.
