Delaware Padley, born in Dillon, died in Calgary Alberta on October 10 after a typhoid relapse and heart attack. He had lived in Calgary since returning from Dillon in 1910 and was buried at Mountain View cemetery after funeral services at St James Episcopal church.

Cupid Survives Snow to Wed in Beaverhead County
William J. Pendergast a Montana cattle man braved three feet of snow to reach Beaverhead County near Bowen for his wedding to Miss Mary Frances Lawrence. After delays and horse changes on the treacherous route from Butte to Anaconda, the ceremony led by Rev. J R Russel was held the day after because of midnight arrival. The couple and Rev Russel then returned to Butte, later heading to Jackson for their future home.

Final Count in Piano Contest Headlines Dillon Dry Goods
The Dillon Dry Goods piano contest ended October 17 with over two million votes on the final day. Mrs Will Jennings won the piano by a small margin with 1 312 200 votes followed by Gladys Oliver in a close second with 1 290 600 votes who receives a 260 due bill. The M E church placed third with 1 220 000 votes earning a 250 due bill. Myrtle Nelson finished fourth with 132 200 votes for a 240 due bill. Rita Johnson earned a 230 due bill. silver set winner undecided.

Montana State College in Bozeman announces its first ever national scope contest entry. A team of five will travel to St Paul and Chicago for the Northwestern livestock show judging contest and the national fat stock show in December. Pioneer Citizen Ends Life After Illness and Troubles
Despondent over a long illness and domestic troubles Conrad Meine, 67, a long-time valley resident, shot himself in his son's granary last Saturday morning. He had sought relief in travel to the Pacific coast but returned home and died at Mountain View cemetery after services by Rev. Jesse Lacklen. He leaves a wife and three children.

Nelton Seeks Time Extension for Appeal in Murder Case
I G Denny, attorney for the defendant, asked Judge Donlan yesterday for an extension of time to file a bill of exceptions and motion for a new trial in the J A Nelton murder case. Nelton was convicted of first degree murder for the Melrose killing of Charles Streb and sentenced to life in the penitentiary. The judge said the time had expired but the matter could be settled via stipulation with the county attorney. no order was issued. Nelson hopes to raise funds to pursue an appeal to the supreme court.

Leadore arrives engineers plan G P Ry round house and shops
Chief Engineer T H Bacon and Assistant R D Cook arrived from Armstead with specifications and blue prints for the G and P railroad round house and machine shops to be built on the east of the existing townsite. The engine house and machine shop will occupy 60 by 80 feet with other buildings sized as yet undetermined. The team will remain in Leadore for several days as contractors begin construction and the ice-storage building from last year will be remodeled into a ware and general supply house.
