Alien Slackers Targeted by Montana District Board
The Montana district board for Division No. 1 called on citizens to aid in detecting fraud and reporting draft dodgers. The resolution urged scrutiny of exemption claims based on alienage, questioned declarations of citizenship, and asked employers not to replace young Americans with aliens. The board reported progress, noting many counties are ready for action while Butte faces difficulty certifying quotas due to alien numbers. Meantime, notices cover land claims, quartz locations, and a 1917 land entry by Luther T. Hauberg in Montana.
