Montana board schedules hearings on rail rate petitions
Montana Board of Railroad Commissioners set hearings for nine petitions including railroads and the Pullman company seeking to raise intrastate freight tariffs and fares for sleeping and parlor cars by about 20 percent. Hearings begin May 25 in Helena with sessions also planned in Butte and Anaconda. Five Montana representatives were appointed to the Rocky Mountain Wool Council by Gov. Ford. Thousands in Missoula receive a national nonpartisan petition urging party platforms to include economy, tax equality and relief. Blair and Seifken return from California winter residence.
