Dillon city officials met to review six bids for furnishing and installing a pump at the recently drilled west well. City Engineer Sam Ward reported satisfactory test results for water quality and flow. The council approved a boundary change for the building zone and heard electric-rate outlines from Howard Babcock of Vigilante Electric Cooperative. Building permits were issued for a Baptist church at Idaho and Sebree and for a Willys shop on Idaho. Routine business followed.

Large Brown Bear Killed by Ranchers
Mr and Mrs Nay, seasoned Grasshopper valley ranchers, shot a large brown bear near their ranch. They pursued and shot the 400 pound animal in a late evening hunt, finally killing it after it showed no further signs of life. The bear fed well during its hibernation period, with few livestock losses reported this season.

Home Nursing Course Starts May 17
Under Mrs. Sam Ward, home nursing classes begin Monday May 17 in the Bagley school basement. The revised 12 hour course replaces the 20 to 32 hour wartime program.
