California Livestock Outlook for Spring 1940
The Los Angeles market report notes fewer early fat lambs likely for eastern shipment due to poor grazing despite a record lamb crop, with many lambs needing feedlot finishing. Feeder lambs should do well in the Corn Belt, while California demand grows for pasture lambs. Slaughter of sheep and lambs from April through June is expected to drop from last year. Cattle markets remain strong with limited grass fat cattle before May and June.
