Dillon Hosts March 28 Joint Montana State College Band Concert
The Montana State college band and Beaverhead county high school band perform a joint concert on Thursday March 28 in the Normal college auditorium at 1030 am. The program includes nine college numbers and four combined selections with soloists Eugene Lieberg Robert Fransham Charles McElroy Andrew Spranger Carl Pfeiffer Donald Schmidt Dean Lillis and Fred Orton. The MSU band tour this spring marks its twenty ninth season led by Lou Howard who began band work in Dillon over 52 years ago.

Jack Barrett prominent Beaverhead County resident died Sunday at his daughter Mrs. W D Ross home after months of illness. Funeral conducted by the Dillon Elks lodge at Brundage chapel, body shipped to California for interment. Barrett born 1867 in Wathena Kansas. moved to Beaverhead County in 1873. rancher and former county official survived by two stepdaughters and two stepsons plus three cousins.

Two electricians at the Montana Power Madison plant suffered severe burns from a live wire last Monday. O T Vandegrift said power was briefly cut. Si McAllester received about 4800 volts and passed the shock to Heine Roe. both were taken to Murray hospital and are recovering.
