Wool outlook good in state survey shows
Montana sheepmen report a strong wool outlook with nine and a half pounds per head over five years suggesting a 30.6 million pound clip. High quality, light shrinking wool is expected due to a favorable 1939-40 season, ample moisture, and strong feed. Prices worry buyers but growers remain optimistic and awaiting offers. Billings proposals push for better market support including higher loan values and wool storage points under a federal program.
