Beaverhead county wool sold for 30 cents a pound, the top price in the state this season, in a Selway Sheep Co. sale of 7,000 fleeces. Sam Ditty represented Monroe, Kincaid and Edgehill of Boston. The 30-cent price is the highest Beaverhead wool has fetched in years, with limited local activity and few comparable sales so far.

Dillon Gun Club Opens New Season in 1940
Dillon Gun Club kicked off its 1940 season with a 20 shooter turnout at the traps. Vic Westergard led the 50 bird trap with 49 hits while his brother Pete top scored in the Dillon Rifle club shoot at 268 of 300. Other top trap scores included Herman Peterson 47 J Jackson 46 and P Schwab 43 with lesser scores by Boyer Sweet and others. Doubles scores showed J Jackson 43 and R Barrett 42 among others.
