Vigilantes Won: Montana Crushing Plummer Gang Founders
In early Montana Virginia City vigilantes executed Plummer gang leaders on a single day. The rise of the committee of safety ended fear, with Glubfoot George Lane and others hanged atop a partly built scaffold. Gravesite disputes and heroism of vigilante leaders shaped a lawless era.
