Red Cross Mutton Sheep Brings Three Thousand Bones

Beaverhead County residents joined a big Red Cross drive last Thursday night at the hotel, raising a record $3,000 for the mutton sheep donated by Dick Cosgrove and auctioned by Arby Beardslee and Bert Orr. Mule bids and back-and-forth bidding dominated the sale, with many locals contributing additional checks later, while a large Red Cross display drew praise for hospital garments and knitted goods.
