A benefit performance of The Wild Rose will be staged Friday afternoon at three at the Hartwig theater in Dillon. Over half the seats are sold. the show features 40 Dillon women including leading lady Caroline Stoller and a full undercard of sopranos altos and supporting roles with Miss Higbee Miss Hawkinson and others in a lavish production with costuming from Eliel Brothers. Proceeds support the Beaverhead Red Cross chapter.

Beaverhead County Woman Dies in Kansas
Mrs. Wm Banneyer longtime Beaverhead County resident died last Friday in Hayes City Kansas after an operation. Born in Russia 66 years ago she came to the United States forty years ago and left behind nine children from her first marriage seven of whom survive. Surviving children include Alex of Miles City Anna McLaughn of Butte Ed Jake Carl George of Great Falls and Frank who runs a ranch at Apex. Funeral services were held Monday in Hayes City with Jake and Carl Mittlemier of Dillon attending.

In Beaverhead County rural schools 53 percent of the 549 pupils are thrift stamp savers, with $1,492.28 invested and an average of $2.71 per pupil. Grant, Hanson, Bristow, Polaris, Whitworth, Nicholia, Mill Point, and Jones schools boast 100 percent participation. Grant pupil owns $600 in war savings stamps. Bristow pupils hold $400 in Liberty bonds. Lima sold stamps to census children and outlined non enrolled youths. Total district credit is $1,125.00, with $530.00 for under six.
