Beaverhead County Cattle Ranching Described by Dillon
A Dillon Montana letter from 1930 explains Beaverhead County as a large cattle and sheep area with one of the state's biggest ranches. It notes the Jefferson, Missouri river system, historic gold sites, and the county seat Dillon near Butte. The reply shares local climate, vegetation, wildlife, fur trade, and the Normal College with a high school and elementary schools.
