Montana Extension Reports Farm Egg Yields and Crested Wheatgrass Seeding
Montana extension notes two items. R Kjeldsen of Huson leads large flocks with nearly 21 eggs per hen for June and Henry Weiermiller of Big Fork tops small flocks with about 22 eggs per hen. Crested wheatgrass should be fall seeded from Sept 15 to freezing for best stand, soil protection and insect control. Mercer cites fall seedings driving acreage gains and early growth reducing damage from pests and soil blow.
