Pay Roll Taxes Reduced for Many Montana Employers
Montana's new experience rating law cuts payroll taxes for about 60 percent of employers in Dillon and nearby areas. The change, effective the first quarter of 1947, shifts rates from a flat 2.7 percent to five levels up to 2.7 percent, lowering total revenue by about 1.3 million dollars. It also raises unemployment benefits by about 20 percent starting March 31.
