The Dillon Gun Club posted a perfect 75 to remain tied for the lead in the Montana Standard postal shoot with Butte Trap and Skeet. Russ Smith led the club with 48x50 in singles, including a 25 straight, while Ted Renfro and Bill Gleed added 25s from Lima. Weather was favorable for the event with 50 shooters in attendance.

Beaverhead County Doubles Red Cross Drive Quota
Beaverhead County more than doubled its Red Cross drive quota in March. Treasurer S. P. Meade reported at a county chapter meeting that residents subscribed 2743.92 dollars toward a 1273 dollar goal. The drive added 1087 members including firms and organizations, with 502.14 dollars of the total remaining to Beaverhead and a chapter balance of 4579.94 dollars for local needs. Fred Bridenstine elected chairman, C. G. D Evelyn named vice chair, S. P. Meade re-elected treasurer, Mrs. Edgar Williams secretary, and Toke Contway led the drive.

Marble Tournament Slated for Next Sunday in Dillon
Beaverhead post No 20 of the American Legion reports meeting its 1947 quota with 252 members, while the Millon Legion post shows 252 of 251. Semifinals and finals of a marble tournament begin at 1 pm Sunday on the high school courts, under Lloyd Whipple VFW sponsorship. Pupils from all grades compete, with winners advancing to semis. Over 175 youths from nine churches in Butte Anaconda Deer Lodge and Diller attended a Youth for Christ gathering at Beaverhead County High School. Speaker Herb Tyler of the Pacific Northwest spoke on Gods Trees. The Lowell Avenue Methodist church and Butte Salvation Army organized the program with a pre event supper at the Andrus hotel dining room and a Sunday youth rally.

Veteran Ellerman 60 Dies. WWI Veteran Remembered
Frank Ellerman 60 longtime Beaverhead county resident died Saturday at Barrett hospital after admission for exam and treatment. Born Jan 4 1887 in Cedar county Missouri he came West in 1909 and worked on county ranches. He served 11 months in France during World War I and belonged to Lloyd Whipple post VFW in Dillon. He leaves two sisters a brother and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Brun dage funeral home with Lutheran minister Rev Edward R Leivestad. Military honors were given at Mountain View cemetery by Lloyd Whipple post. Pallbearers included Arthur Kunselman Lorin Davis Norman Nelson Frank Bell Maurice O Brien Cliff Owen.

Mrs Anna Mary Nettik 57 longtime Dillon resident died Saturday at her East Glendale home after a yearlong illness. Born February 17 1890 in Toronto Ohio she moved to Dillon with her family as a child. Survived by husband Michael Nettik daughter Lucille son-in-law Freeman Ambrose six sons four daughters-in-law two brothers a sister an aunt and seven grandchildren. Funeral Mass was held at St Rose Catholic Church with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.

The annual city bowling tournament begins Monday May 5 at Dillon Bowling Center. Team events run Monday and Tuesday with entry $2 per man. doubles $1.50 per man. singles $1.00 per person.
