State Taxes for Quarter Rise in Montana 1934
The Montana state board of equalization approved a first quarter tax rise of $536 363.42 over 1933. Increased beer and gasoline taxes plus milder winter driving boosted revenue, more than doubling the 1933 three month total. Chairman James H. Stewart noted new targets and added revenue from liquor and fuel taxes.
