Nearly 70 Dillon singers and dancers perform in Camp Meetin a three act musical at the Hartwig theatre under the Dillon Choral club and the Parent Teachers association. A matinee drew school children as the show features plantation songs and Negro spirituals with dance numbers and stagings led by Mrs. Gilbert Adena Hardy Claudia Faust and Violet M Eastman.

James A. McCollum was appointed sheriff and Thomas J. Gilbert county attorney by the Beaverhead board of commissioners at its monthly session this week. McCollum succeeds the late W. Orr, who died in Butte March 24 from injuries in a car wreck near Melrose. Gilbert succeeds James E. Kelly, who resigned.

Hungate a Dillon area pioneer died at Dell late Monday after a brief illness born July 19 1868 in Jinoois he came to Dillon in 1880 with the Utah and Northern railroadAn old time stage driver he led to Salmon and Red Rock routes For 30 years he supervised the Kidd ranch for Henry Thompson he is survived by seven children twenty three grandchildren a great grandchild a sister in Blackfoot Idaho and a brother in Chattanooga Tennessee.

Beaverhead county car owners must display 1934 license plates or have applied by April 15 or face arrest and penalties. The order covers residents with out-of-state plates. Nicholas Stages 61 a Beaverhead County resident for about 40 years died early Sunday at his cabin from a heart attack. A Oregon native he worked as a ranch herder and was known among sheepmen. Survived by a son in California funeral held with Rev J A Meeke officiating at the cemetery.

Betty Apgar aged 11 won the kite tournament held near the Woodside airport east of Dillon with three judges giving her a perfect 100 for her box kite. Dillon Opens State Liquor Store With Busy Opening
Beaverhead county residents bought liquor legally for the first time since prohibition ended. Vendor B L Poindexter and assistant Grace Orr kept busy as hundreds of dollars of goods were sold during the opening from noon to 8 pm. Only about 35 permits were issued that day. The store offered a wide selection, and was closed Monday for a city election.

Cars Damaged in Wreck Here Early Tuesday Morning
A Chevrolet coupe driven by N Baroni of Butte and a Dart Hardware Ford truck driven by Frank Calkins collided at the Montana and Helena streets intersection. Baroni came from the north while the truck was westbound on Helena. both vehicles suffered severe damage and occupants escaped with only minor cuts and bruises. Insurance was reported for both cars.

Prison term for forgery handed to Pete Barness
Pete Barness received a one year state prison sentence after pleading guilty to forgery. Authorities allege he cashed a bad check at Busy Bee store. Frank Triplet was treated at Barrett hospital after an assault incident. Wanda Parker Conklin was granted a divorce and is serving a state prison term for bigamy. Diggle Emerick’s car was stolen from in front of St Rose church and recovered within hours on South Dakota street. The vehicle was undamaged and found by Carl Hartwig.
