Arne Amundson, chairman of the Ward county board of commissioners, was arrested on a complaint by Nels Abrahamson charging him with procuring an abortion for Nellie Abrahamson, 16. The case centers on alleged illicit relations during Mrs Amundson’s hospitalization in Minneapolis. In Dickson a basket social fundraiser for the public library hosted an old fashioned spelling bee. Twenty rounds pitted business men against women with Supt. Berg pronouncing the words. After twenty minutes the men defeated the women.
Strikes Big Gas Well Near Lansford
Ed Keefe of southeast of Lansford struck natural gas while drilling for water. The well passed through lignite coal into gas sand, tested 63 pounds to the square inch, and was capped. R Wray installed gas to house and sheds for Keefe. Keefe will use it for his own needs.
