A series of government meetings are listed for Wednesday and Thursday including the Intergovernmental Coordination Subcommittee in Sandestin at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Public Safety Committee in City Hall at 7 p.m. Fort Walton Beach MPO convenes Thursday at 3 p.m. Destin City Council meets Thursday at 7 p.m. Kathy Way joins the Destin Chamber of Commerce Board, replacing Rudy Sutton who missed five meetings. Sutton says he has lost interest in the chamber.

Destin Cab Company will provide free rides to and from polling places on election day November 4. Residents may call 837-2411 to arrange transport. Owners George and Susan Eller say the service has run for four years with positive public response as an extra driver and taxi are added to handle demand.

Destin Council to discuss leash law and tugboat reefs
Destin City Council plans a discussion on a dog leash ordinance proposed by Councilman Dewey Destin.
