Box and Kropenick recount efforts to win taxpayer support for jet aircraft in the Air Force. Jets were demonstrated at air shows starting with one, then two, then four planes, featuring aerobatic routines and crowd-pleasing low passes. Mariners Enjoy Bay Voyage and Dinner Cruise Adventure
Mariner Dennison and two couples, fearing their craft, traveled by car to join a flotilla bringing the Mariners to 22. They stayed at Holiday Lodge overlooking the water, then cruised to Shell Island for a picnic with roast beef salad and fried chicken. A sunset cocktail party at Holiday Lodge preceded a meal at Bridge Tender Restaurant featuring steamed crab and amberjack. The group, including Jim and Cat Taylor and others, praised canal courtesy and sun, planning another voyage with a larger boat.
